Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 15, 2026
The short version: WealthSight has no backend and no accounts — your portfolio is stored only on your device. We don't collect it, sell it, or see it. There are no ads and no tracking.
1. Who We Are
WealthSight is an iOS app developed by Nicolas Widynski ("we", "us", or "our"). If you have any questions about this policy, you can reach us at wealthsight@nwidynski.com.
2. What We Collect
Nothing. WealthSight has no backend server and no user accounts. There is nothing for us — the developer — to collect, because your portfolio data never leaves your device except to the third-party services described below, which you control directly.
3. Where Your Data Lives
- On your device only. The holdings, accounts, and preferences you enter are stored in a local database on your device (and included in your iCloud/iTunes device backup, if you have one enabled). Deleting the app deletes this data.
- No cloud sync. WealthSight does not sync your portfolio to any server we operate, because we don't operate one.
- No account required. There is no sign-up, login, or Apple ID linkage of any kind.
4. Third-Party Services
To function, WealthSight talks directly to a small number of third-party services from your device. We do not sit in the middle of these requests and do not receive copies of them:
- Market data (Yahoo Finance). Ticker symbols and date ranges are sent to fetch prices and historical charts. No personal or portfolio-identifying information is included beyond the ticker itself.
- Screenshot import (Anthropic API). If you choose to import holdings from a screenshot, the image is sent directly from your device to Anthropic's API using an API key you provide and that is stored only in your device's Keychain. You are billed directly by Anthropic for this — we never see the image, the key, or the result.
- AI News Coverage. The Digest tab's market news recap is fetched from a shared caching service we operate. This request does not include your holdings, portfolio value, or any other personal data — it simply retrieves the same pre-generated weekly/monthly summary shown to every user.
5. What We Do Not Do
- We do not show ads.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not build advertising or analytics profiles.
- We do not sell or share your data, because we never have it.
- We do not access your contacts, photos library, camera roll, or microphone (screenshot import uses whatever image you explicitly select or capture for that purpose only).
6. Children's Privacy
WealthSight is not directed at children under the age of 13. Since the app collects no data on our servers to begin with, there is no account or data of a child's for us to identify or remove — any data entered stays local to the device it was entered on.
7. Security
All network requests the app makes (to Yahoo Finance, Anthropic, and our news caching service) are made over HTTPS. Your Anthropic API key, if you add one, is stored using iOS Keychain, the same secure storage Apple provides for passwords.
8. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
